TERMS FOR WORKING TOGETHER

For those who want to know the nitty-gritty of how this relationship will go,
we’re including some technical information for you…

1. The consultation

If you’re wowed by what we have to offer and are interested in getting started, you’ll probably get in touch about your free minute consultation by providing your name, email address, phone number and the best time to call (don’t worry, your information is secure – please see our privacy policy)

During this call, you’ll have a complimentary 30 minutes with either of us (depending on who is better suited to your project) so that we can get to know each other and talk about your project. If you would like further time to discuss we reserve the right to bill hourly for our time.

2. The quote

After our call, we’ll go over everything and put together a quote for all the services we recommend for your particular goals. The price of the quote will be valid for 7 business days, at which point a new quote will need to be issued as all prices are subject to change at any time.

The quote may be revised if you want to add or remove services.

3. The contract

Once you’ve decided we are the best fit (get the champagne!) we’ll draft up a contract of service. This will cover both of our responsibilities and hold us accountable to each other. The contract may be signed electronically or printed out, signed and scanned. Both will be considered to have equal legal weight.

The contract is a serious commitment and will be enforced if necessary, so please do not take it lightly. We will both be making a commitment to each other in this partnership and expect both sides to uphold the terms to the best of their ability. This includes meeting all deadlines outlined in the calendar (see THE CALENDAR).

4. The deposit

With the signed contract in hand, we’ll send you an invoice for the deposit payment. A deposit of 50% is required for all projects. This is because we have limited availability and sometimes have to turn other clients away when the schedule gets booked. Larger or more complex projects may be split into 3 or more payments at our discretion.

Payment can be made with any major credit card via Paypal.

Our payment policy: Interest accrued if payment is more than 10 running days late is 5% of outstanding amount to be added every 5 running days, starting from the 11th running day after the receipt of the invoice.

5. The calendar

After we receive your deposit, we’ll send over a calendar with the deadlines for the project. Please look them over carefully and let us know ahead of time if you will have any conflicts. Deadlines work two ways, and in order to deliver the finished products in time we count on your timely feedback and provision of the correct files.

We won’t responsible for delivering the project by the original deadline if you are delayed in meeting your feedback deadlines, so please keep this in mind.

Also, if we don’t hear from you for more than 30 days without warning, the project will be cancelled and you’ll be billed for all work that was done. A $150 rebooking fee will be charged to re-start the project after this point.

So in short, let’s everyone be punctual and everything will run smoothly!

6. The revisions

We know from plenty of experience that fixed-price contracts are rarely beneficial to you, as they often limit you to your first idea about how something should look, or how it might work. We don’t want to limit either your options or your opportunities to change your mind.

Most packages allow for up to two rounds of revisions on each design item listed in the deliverables, except for the logo design process which includes three rounds of four concepts (twelve concepts total).

The estimate/quotation we provide to you is based on the number of hours that we estimate we’ll need to accomplish everything that you tell us you want to achieve. If you do want to change your mind, add extra designs or variations or even add new items, that won’t be a problem. You’ll be charged either a fixed item price as outlined on our website or our hourly rate for additional revisions or items not included in the original project scope. Along the way we might ask you to put requests in writing so we can keep track of changes.

7. The content

We’re not responsible for creating or inputting any content (text, images, etc) unless specifically stated in the project quote and contract. We do offer copywriting and content creation, so just ask so we can incorporate it into the project quote.

The deadline for your content will be specified in your project calendar. If no or only some of the content is provided by the deadline, we’ll use demo text such as lorem ipsum and demo images from places like Unsplash. You’ll be responsible for replacing the demo text later on or we can do it for you at our hourly rate.

You should supply graphic files in an editable, vector digital format. You should supply photographs in a high resolution digital format. If you choose to buy stock photographs, we can suggest stock libraries. If you’d like us to search for photographs for you, we can provide a separate estimate for that.

8. The final files

After payment of the remainder of the project cost, you’ill receive the final design files for all the artwork we create together. Design process files are an additional fee (i.e. other logo variations from the logo process beyond the final designs).

Brand files will be provided in transparent .png format, in addition to one brand board file that includes all elements in .ai format. Print files will be provided in vector-based, print-ready .pdf format (or the format specified by your printer) at 300dpi. Patterns and textures will be provided in .jpg format at 300dpi. Colors will be provided in CMYK, RGB and hex format. Font files are not included and you will be responsible for purchasing the licenses for yourself.

Additional file formats and types may incur additional fees. Please consult with us beforehand.

9. About Websites

We’ll create static designs for the look-and-feel, layout and functionality of your web site. Most packages includes one main design plus the opportunity for you to make up to two rounds of revisions. Additional revisions will be billed hourly.

All websites are developed using the WordPress platform and Divi page builder unless otherwise specified. We are not responsible for errors caused by the WordPress or Divi platforms and/or any additional plugins used on the website due to updates or lack thereof, compatibility issues or any other reasons. Any costs incurred due to additional paid WordPress plugins will be added to the project cost.

The website will be developed on our own hosting account, and you’ll be provided with the link so that you can accompany the process. The website will be transferred to the final domain upon payment of the final portion of the project cost.

Domain and hosting will be your responsibility. We recommend Siteground!

10. Sharing is caring

We love to show off our work and share what we’ve learned with other people, so we also reserve the right to display and link to your completed project as part of our portfolio and to write about the project on websites, in magazine articles, on social media and in books about design. If you have an objection to this please let us know ahead of time.

We also love to take credit for our work, and for all our websites we place a small line in the footer with a link to our website (i.e. Website by Wild Side Design Co.)

11. Cancellation

We invest a lot of hard work, time and resources into each project, and take this into consideration when pricing our packages and giving custom quotes. The estimate/quote we provide to you is based on the number of hours that we estimate we’ll need to accomplish everything that you tell us you want to achieve. For that reason, we want to make it clear that you are paying for a service and the payment rules are structured accordingly.

If, at any stage, you’re not happy with the direction the work is taking, you’ll pay us in full for everything we’ve produced until that point and cancel our contract. This is regardless of whether you want the final files or not, but they will be provided anyways upon final payment. However, we hope to find a better solution before letting it come to this!

12. Changes to terms

All prices listed on this page are provided for your benefit and are subject to change without warning. Since this website is updated periodically, the prices may become outdated or incorrect at any time. For accurate pricing please get in touch to get a custom quote.

All terms listed on this page are also subject to change. The terms that govern each specific project will be outlined in the client contract, and should be considered superior to these terms.
